Card sorting
When creating a website structure, it is often necessary to investigate the users' perception of the content organization. Card sorting demonstrates whether users understand the content, how they group different content blocks and how they describe and name them.
Users who are part of the product audience segments are selected for the research. The participant receives cards with navigation menu titles, page titles or content themes. Participant is invited to arrange the cards into groups according to their own preconceptions and assign titles to these groups. The participant comments on his/her activities. The moderator asks questions to understand the participant's reasons for certain decisions. If participant faces problems or uncertainties, the moderator is trying to register the cause and provide explanations.
The result of this research method is a content tree, based on the users' perception regarding the content grouping, terminology used and other findings. You will get an insight into the course of study: the most relevant user comments and feedback.
